True Love Is All About Actions, Not Words
Yes, beliefs are important for they shape who we are, but our identity is revealed not through our beliefs or our talk, but through our actions. – Thomas Ingram, The New Normal
The good old saying ‘Actions speak louder than words’ is something that should be central to our lives. We have to choose people who speak with actions rather than with hollow words. And in return, we have to practice what we preach, we have to mean and do what we say.
People say things without meaning them. We get a lot of fake apologies and we ourselves tell people that we care when we do not care in the slightest. This is the truth. Yes, this may be harsh to hear but we, too, say things without meaning them. We too say things that we will not follow up with actions.
But in order to live better lives, we have to follow up with actions. At least if we want to have healthy relationships in our life.
We remember people by what they do, not what they say. We have to keep our promises, act honorably, and guide the humanity towards a better tomorrow. Yes, you can be a kind-hearted person who wants to help others but if you cannot keep your promise, do not make such a promise in the first place. Know your capabilities. Do not be someone who lets people down, intentionally or unintentionally.
If you want to prove your loyalty to others, do so by acting, not by saying that you will. When people we care about find themselves in a rough patch, we help them, especially if we promised we would. We cannot expect them to be there when we need them if we cannot extend the same courtesy.
The people who love you the most will not waste precious time trying to persuade you to become honest and honorable if you are not willing to make that change yourself.
They will not be there at your worst if you were not there when they needed you.
